Take Tuesday: Halloween

Since we live in an apartment building, we don't have a cute porch to put pumpkins on, but here is a simple and, if I do say so myself, charming little festive display I made. Maybe this can be called a garland? I'm not sure, what do you think?
Anyways, this was super simple to make and only required a few supplies: paper, pencil/pen, string, glue, scissors, and a stick. You can see my how-to below.

I'm thinking that this idea will transition nicely into both a Thanksgiving and Christmas display. Perhaps, with a dash of glitter even :)

Let's be friends and swap

It's that time of month where everyone and their mother is making a sponsor call and while I'm not going to ask for your sweet cash, I DO want to throw it out there that I love doing FREE button swaps!

While Dawn and I were having lunch one of the things we talked about was the relational aspect of blogging and how a weird type of friendship is formed. And by "weird" I mean that they are formed virtually, not that they are any less valid (hopefully that made sense). For example, I will often find myself sharing a story one of you posts and I will refer to you as "my friend". And I feel sort of awkward about this reference because, aside from Dawn, I've never met any of you so I wonder if it is ok for me to be calling you "friend"? But "friend" is much easier than "this blogger chick who I stalk on a daily basis and who comments on my posts and I comment on hers". You get my point.
I'm going to end that ramble now.
But seriously, do you do this or is it just me?
that whole spiel was basically to say that I greatly appreciate all my friends (and all you readers who are a bit quieter in the comment box!) in the blog world and that I love sharing and promoting you. You make my days.
soooo, if you would like to SWAP BUTTONS send a nice little note to squeak240@gmail.com and we will get a swap a going  :D

(FYI - Eeka, I have no qualms calling you friend since you stalked me down on facebook!)

Take Tuesday: Sunrise

As I've mentioned I'm not one to rise before the sun unless it is absolutely necessary. And since the theme for this week's Take Tuesday would require that, I found sunrise colors elsewhere in nature. I tried to arrange them so that the colors went from muted and subdued to fiery and bright like a sunrise...

Next week's - October 30 - theme is Halloween!
This should be easy-peasy!

back to the grind

So I'm not exactly sure how I managed to fritter away the entire weekend without checking some homework off the ol' to-do list, but that's exactly what happened. I blame the glorious fall weather. Want to take a wild guess as to how I'll be spending today?

The other day, there were hundreds of sweet little mushes peeping out of the ground. It made me smile.

Don't forget! Tomorrow is Take Tuesday! The theme is technically sunrise but I think even I will be fudging this one a bit. Have I mentioned night owl is more my nature? Early birds, you can have the worm. I give it to you willingly. ;)

It's the time of year when the annual pumpkin carving festivities abound! Here are a few snaps of us doing just that in our ever attractive PJs and sweats :) Anyone had a chance to go to a cornmaze? Keith and I went with my parentals and had a fun time tromping around with our flashlights, even if my dad used the map the whole time...

Now, I imagine the pic below is totally uninteresting to you but it melts my heart so it must be posted.

The Corn Spider Feasts

Below are some pictures that I am fairly pleased with, if you don't mind me saying.
I mean, yo. I got these with a point and shoot Nikon CoolPix.
Impressed much? Because you should be. Although, not necessarily because of my camera skills, but because it tells you how close my hand was to a very large spider.

Now, I wish it could be said that while I sat enthralled in the freezing (I kid not, I had my mom's winter coat on. What was the spider doing out? Shouldn't it be tucked away in a web of hibernation? Or, let's be real here, preparing to die.), wind-swept yard at my parental an unsuspecting grasshopper snared itself in the web, but that is simply not true. In all actuality, I sent my dad on a mission to find a juicy feast for the spider so that I could have a more interesting photo-shoot. (Cheat much?) I definitely got what I hoped for.

Do you see how she used her legs to spread the web....
Did you swat at that random tickle on you felt?

Take Tuesday: Numbers

Anyone else see these numbers daily? Well, maybe not these exactly, since this is a man multivitamin, but, ya know...
Why do they put more than the daily recommended amount in these?

Next weeks theme is SUNRISE
Which, I know, sounds like a wicked scheme to get you out of bed super early, but it is staying dark so much longer that it wouldn't be that much of a sacrifice ;)

Breaking in the Fall

Fall AND break. Two of my favorite things smashed together!?
Do a little happy dance with me as I celebrate :)

So, just in case you forgot, tomorrow is another Take Tuesday photo linkup! The theme is NUMBERS. I want to see your pretty pictures! I want to be impressed! (Not that I haven't been impressed by previous entries, because I certainly have been. It amazes me how a group of people can take the same prompt and return totally different results. LOVE it.)

Now, I am going to skedaddle and enjoy day. And find me a tasty muff...
