Art Journal - Dead Fish

Photobucket

My dear friend Bekka and I have an art journal that we pass between us. It helps to keep us connected since we live hundreds of miles apart.
Behold the lastest installment! It's quite simple but I like the way it turned out. It leaves room to ponder. :)

Beautiful druzy rings

I love these rings! They're like grown-up, socially acceptable glitter.
One of each - size 9 please!

Swaparoo

I just participated in my first online trade and I must say that I'm quite pleased with the outcome. :) How cute and quirky is that duck!? This Tshirt came from the adorable shop Flytrap.  I love all of Jody's earthy, organic designs and everything is printed on super soft jersey fabric.
The ultra softness makes me quite happy because sometimes when I have a really bad cold I use a T instead of a zillion scratchy tissues.
Did I just gross you out? ;)

Grandma, is that you?

I am all for vintage clothes. I love going to thrift stores and find strange and quirky articles. My heart delights in finding things that are so ugly they are cute - and then wearing them.
I do not, however, understand the trend of hip and adorable 20-something females swathing themselves in granny clothes.

This style, however, I like very much:

So much texture and color! I adore the juxtaposition of the paisley print and the Xs on the bag.
If you feel so inclined, you can find the lovely silk scarf and messenger bag by following the links.

The last swatch...

I. Love. This. Fabric.

It is plaid, colorful, sturdy but still flexible, and washes well. If only it was a touch softer...
My heart is saddened though. That swatch is all that remains and since it was originally a jumper that I repurposed there is no way to acquire more of it.
What's a girl to do?
